Her pedagogy is centered on variety, experimentation, avenues to access the imagination & play. She is at home teaching any genre to any age, with a particular love of poetic form.

Miranda has taught creative writing in one form or another since 2005:
in school systems, in libraries, community centers, as well as to undergraduates at Stony Brook University.

Creating curriculums, coordinating and teaching poetry, writing and literacy programs in New York school systems as a teaching artist. As an administrator, Miranda Beeson has supervised NYSCA funded arts in education programs throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties, directed professional development programs, fostered relationships between teaching artists and school systems and written grant applications for the continued support of Arts In Education.

Introduction to Contemporary Literature: B A D  B E H A V I O R!  We will examine homo sap bad behavior though the lens of contemporary literature. Also its antidote: empathy. A multi-genre romp through short stories, essays, manifestos, fables, novels, advice columns, flash fiction, poetry, plays, podcasts & more.

  

Forms of Science Writing: Writing Through Our Five Senses: Accompanied by Diane Ackerman's A Natural History of the Senses, we will read & write in multiple forms as we investigate our five senses & their place on the page.
